This Harley Davidson Sportster 48 cafe racer transformed in the Harley Davidson workshop in Spain owned by Lord Drake Kustoms has been commissioned by a client who already had a Sportster 48 Bobber transformed by us.
Cafe racer motorcycles tend to use Japanese motorcycles as a base more than Harley Davidson, but this does not mean that we cannot customize a cafe racer motorbike with a Sportster base from the legendary American brand. Precisely and although LDK is not an official Harley Davidson dealer in Malaga, we are specialists in this brand of custom motorcycles both for transforming them and for their repair and maintenance.
Going back to this Sportster cafe racer, the first thing he did Fran Manen (owner of Lord Drake Kustoms) It was to decide what type of custom bike it was going to be … and he was clear about it: It had to preserve the spirit of a Sportster Forty Eight and at the same time be a cafe racer of the purest classic style.
To achieve this we have kept the tiresand the original Sportster 48 tank and from there we have started to customize and transform a motorcycle in cafe racer style with very basic elements: Cafe racer tail with single seat and semi-handlebars, accompanied by other parts for custom bikes. that we have acquired in the online store of accessories and parts for motorcycles:Customize your Motorcycle.
Lord Drake Kustoms is a distributor of Ohlins shock absorbers in Spain, that is why we have chosen to install a pair of this brand to give it the correct height and get the height of the Roland Sands Design cafe racer tail to match the Sportster 48 fuel tank, after have trimmed and modified the entire rear and subframe of a custom bike in a very elegant way .
Some Vance and Hines short shots, an air filter for Harley Rough Crafts, a spoiler keel for Sportster, a 4.75-inch motorcycle headlight grille, handmade license plate holder for Sportster, LED turn signals and mirrors on the grips along with many others. Custom accessories have shaped this Sportster cafe racer.
Regarding the finish, we have respected the paint and graphics of the Harley Davidson special edition of the fuel tank and so that it does not lose prominence, we have painted the rest of the motorcycle in black except for the number 48 on the tail and some details in white such as the rim of the headlight or the grilles of the side covers that, together with other pieces, have been painted with electrostatic powder paint in the oven by the Metal Colors company.
The Olivares Foundation will have a Harley motorcycle customized by Lord Drake Kustoms to help in their fight against childhood cancer.
This post that we publish today is not to talk about customizing a motorcycle. It is a post aimed at all of you who are parents, uncles, grandparents … or simply think that children are the essence of life.
Today has been a very big day for Francisco Alí Manén and our company Lord Drake Kustoms, because after several months we have managed to make the start of a GREAT PROJECT a reality…. probably one of the most important projects that we will do in our career both personally and professionally… and also in Malaga where we have one of our motorcycle transformation workshops.
It is not about transforming a Harley Davidson for a world championship, nor about winning a prize, nor about making a famous motorcycle … it is something much simpler and that cannot be paid with money or with prizes … “The best and most beautiful of this life cannot be seen or touched, it must be felt with the heart”
Almost a year ago in the midst of a pandemic, a friend and client (thank you David) told us about the difficulties that the OLIVARES FOUNDATION dedicated to supporting children with cancer and sponsored by singer Pablo Alborán and to study the possibility of seeing some way of collaborating with them and meeting Andrés Olivares, their president and founder.
A few days later we met, talked and after learning about the history of the foundation and, above all, knowing how hard the day-to-day life of these children with cancer and their families can be, we shaped a campaign that begins today.
Today finally, Fran Manen shook hands with Andrés Olivares, president and founder of the Olivares Foundation to kick off a project in which we are going to customize a unique motorcycle, but not unique because of the motorcycle itself, not because it is a Harley or because it has very nice rims … It will be a unique custom motorcycle for what it is going to represent.
This bike, once finished, will be raffled off and will be the flagship of a great campaign of events that we are going to carry out jointly by the “Olivares Foundation” and our company “Lord Drake Kustoms”.
All the funds raised in the raffle for this customized Harley Davidson and from the rest of the activities will be donated entirely to the foundation, so that they can continue their work to support children with cancer and their families.
In our workshopswe have a giant poster of a man almost flying on a motorcycle that says: “4 wheels move the body … 2 wheels move the soul!” … I hope that the two wheels of this motorcycle that we are going to make move the souls of many people and we manage to raise as much money as possible to help these great fighters who take care of our children … Yes, we say ours, it is a problem that you it can touch you, me or anyone….
So fasten your seat belts because we are going to take off in this project transforming and modifying an impressive motorcycle, which we hope will arouse the admiration of everyone and above all that it touches the soul so that we make sure that children suffering from cancer do not lose their childhood.
Fran Manen
PS: Before starting the project, we want to thank Andrés Olivares, Paula and the rest of the Fundación Olivares team for the trust you have placed in us, for the great work and good you do … and above all, MANY THANK YOU for everything you have taught us during the visit to your facilities….
What we have seen today cannot be seen with the eyes… it can only be seen with the heart!

Little by little, Indian motorcycles begin to be more and more present in the custom motorcycle market and they are subtracting sales from their main rival, Harley Davidson. Although we are not an Official Indian Dealer in Spain, we have a workshop service specialized in custom motorcycles of this brand in Malaga both for repairs and maintenance as well as for transformations and customizations of these motorcycles.
The modification and transformation of Indian Scout motorcycles does not stop growing, since this model is the most popular when it comes to customizing an Indian. At Lord Drake Kustoms we are specialists in wide rear wheel kit with 240 and Ohlins shock absorbers for Indian.

In this report we are going to talk about a Triumph Bonneville T100 transformed by Lord Drake Kustoms in his workshop specialized in Triumph in Spain, where they have modifiedthis Triumph Army to give it a new mix of cafe racerand scramblerair.
With total freedom on the part of the client, Fran Manen (owner of LDK) has carried out the design and customization work of this Triumph with a very attractive result since it presents elements of cafe racer motorcycles such as semi-handlebars and elements of scrambler motorcycles such as knobby tires.
For the transformation of thisTriumph, the 2011 injection model Bonneville T100 has been chosen. The mythical English brand Triumphhas more and more followers in Spainwhen it comes to customization.
That is why in recent years Lord Drake Kustoms has been adapting to the growing demand for this type of customization of cafe racer and scrambler motorcyclesto the point of becoming one of the temples of the transformation and modification of Triumph motorcycles in Spain.
Also added is an LDK handcrafted license plate bracket, modified front fender and subframe, modified side covers and a metalcolorscompany powder paintjob for all matte black parts.
All this has given life to this Triumph Bonneville customized with the nickname “ARMY”.
Once the work is finished we have proceeded to the homologation of reforms carried out so that the client can enjoy this simple Triumph Bonneville modified and completely transformed.

The new BMW R BRAT by Lord Drake Kustoms is a perfect example of how classic can be transformed into something completely modern. Born from the purest spirit of classic BMW boxer models, this bike has been reinvented with a brat style that combines minimalism, character, and a generous dose of authenticity.
The result is an elegant yet wild machine, ready to enjoy both in the city and on the open road, with that unmistakable stamp that characterizes all the projects of Fran Manen and his team.
From tradition to Brat style
The basis of this build is a 1980s BMW R80, a robust, reliable motorcycle with legendary mechanics that has stood the test of time. At Lord Drake Kustoms, this German classic has been stripped of all unnecessary components to create a lightweight, clean bike with a completely revamped aesthetic.
The brat style, born in Japan and adopted by the world’s leading manufacturers, seeks precisely that: comfortable, urban motorcycles with a timeless look. The BMW R BRAT takes this philosophy to the max, with a relaxed riding position and a line that blends retro with modern.
The fuel tank has been painted pearl white, with the iconic BMW logo standing out in contrast. This understated yet elegant finish reflects the philosophy of this build: less is more.
The engine and chassis have been finished in matte black, combined with satin black and chrome elements that provide visual balance and character. All paintwork was handcrafted in the Lord Drake Kustoms workshop, ensuring a perfect and exclusive finish.
A Brat with her own character
The BMW R BRAT doesn’t seek attention with flashiness, but with personality. It’s a motorcycle designed for those who value authenticity, handcrafted design, and exclusivity.
With this creation, Lord Drake Kustoms once again demonstrates its mastery when it comes to reinterpreting classics, combining elegance, functionality, and a custom spirit in a single machine.
The transformation and motorcycle customization in Spain that Lord Drake Kustoms has carried out in his cafe racer workshop in Malaga in recent years, have a remarkable characteristic: they are all of different styles and brands.
In short, it is very easy: you can find the cafe racer of your dreams at Lord Drake Kustoms regardless of the brand, model or style of custom bike you want.
More and more custom bikes are coming directly from the Harley Davidson dealer to Lord Drake Kustoms’ workshop to receive a brutal modification or transformation for a cafe racer, bobber and even scrambler style.
The market is changing and Harley motorcycle owners are no longer satisfied with owning a Harley Davidson; now they want something more, they want a custom and unique Harley.
Each of these bikes, coming directly from the Harley Davidson dealer, adopt styles that can range from the most classic custom or chopper motorcycle to the most recent trends such as baggers…. And for the most daring, cafe raceror even scrambler modifications.
For all this, many lovers of the legendary American motorcycle brand, as soon as they buy their new motorcycle at an Official Harley Davidson Dealer, decide to bring it to some of our Harley customization workshops in Spain (Malaga)or the United States (Miami).
Especially in Miami, we do not stop collecting motorcycles at the Harley Davidon Peterson’s dealership or atAlligator Alley Harley in Sunrise; all of them from the Harley Davidson touring range (especially Road Glide and Street Glide models) to undergo a Bagger transformation.
However, in Europe, the new motorcycles that come to us from Harley Davidson dealers such as Siebla Málaga (Spain) or Capital Brussels (Belgium) are usually from the Sportster range, customers are looking for more cafe racer or bobber transformations and on rare occasions a scrambler.
This is mainly due to the fact that the culture of transformation and customization of motorcycles in Spain or other European countries is totally different from the American one.
In the end, it doesn’t matter if it’s a Harley Davidson cafe racer, a Sportster Bobber or a Road Glide Bagger… what matters is that they want unique custom bikes and for that they entrust their new bikes to Lord Drake Kustoms.
