[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Mission accomplished! “Speedster”, our latest creation in Lord Drake Kustoms, gets on the podium of the AMD World Championship modified bikes, held this past weekend in Cologne (Germany), with obtaining a 2nd place in the modified Harley category.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Nothing is created from nothing, art evolves from what exists. That’s why we’re going to explain where the inspiration comes from for our two bikes that compete this weekend at the AMD Wold Championship 2018 in Cologne (Germany).

“SEVENTY”

Indeed, our “SEVENTY” motorbike is directly inspired by rally racing cars from the late 70s to the 90s. If you look at classic examples such as the Lancia 037 or the Lancia Delta S4, you will see the clear style.

Martini Rossi was the main sponsor of these races and creator of these teams, which were called Martini Racing, which gave these cars a recognizable aesthetic thanks to its famous tricolor band: blue, light blue and red.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”12167″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”12169″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]Another recognizable style is that of the famous Flat Track motorcycle races in the 70s.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/6″][vc_single_image image=”12177″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/6″][vc_single_image image=”12181″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/6″][vc_single_image image=”12175″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/6″][vc_single_image image=”12179″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/6″][vc_single_image image=”12173″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Today the voting begins at the AMD World Championships of Customized Motorcycle Builders 2018 (AMD World Championship) and we want to better understand what has been the process of creating our latest motorcycles “SPORTSTER” and “SEVENTY”.

Well, both were created from the Sportster 883 model of Harley Davidson. This line of motorcycles was created by the famous brand from 1957.

“Cream” the Yamaha Cafe Racer by Lord Drake Kustoms in Biker Zone magazine

“Cream” the Yamaha Cafe Racer by Lord Drake Kustoms in Biker Zone magazine

YAMAHA TRIPLE USA CUSTOM”

Triumph Boneville Brat by Lord Drake Kustoms in Biker Zone Magazine

Triumph Boneville Brat by Lord Drake Kustoms in Biker Zone Magazine

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It is the color of elegance and good taste. As we all know, black indicates respect and simplicity. This is a clear example of how in Lord Drake Kustoms with very few changes we are able to convert an old Triumph Boneville Brat, which was doomed to oblivion, to stand out above their expectations.

A report by Biker Zone in its number 286.

BLACK IS BLACK

Lord Drake Kustoms

“This time it has been more a case of restoration than customization, since the bike was the year 2002 and only had rolled about 6,000 km and all in the first year. The rest of the time, almost 13 years, was abandoned and in terrible conditions, to the point that when he came to LDK they wanted to send it to the scrap dealer. ” We were told in Lord Drake Kustoms.

Text and photos: Francisco Alí Manén

So according to the owner decided to disassemble it completely, restore everything that was needed and reassemble it but giving it a personal touch that will improve its aesthetics. I did not intend an extreme modification, simply to get an elegant motorcycle, discreet but with a more aggressive air.

All the pieces were pickled and dripped: chassis, engine, tires, absolutely everything and then everything was painted, even the smallest screw in black with some touches of gold.

“Perhaps the most remarkable thing about this bike is the change from a rear tire to an 18”, the completely handmade seat with black leather and golden stitching “

Perhaps the highlight of this bike is the change of rear tire to an 18 “, the seat entirely handmade with black leather and stitching in gold and the backlight embedded. They are small details that add to the game that offers the combination of pearl black, textured black powder and traces of gold, which result in a new, elegant and aggressive Bonneville …

And the fact is that black is always black.

Lord Drake Kustoms has facilities in Malaga, from where it offers service of transformation and modification of motorcycles for all Spain and the rest of Europe, regardless of the style or brand of the motorcycle and of course with budgets for all budgets.

Springer SDT Vintage by Lord Drake Kustoms in Biker Zone magazine

Springer SDT Vintage by Lord Drake Kustoms in Biker Zone magazine

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]oday we bring you a classic custom, our Springer SDT Vintage. A motorcycle based on a Harley Softail that was already a few years old and was made in the facilities of Miami.

We leave you with the report that Biker Zone dedicated to him in his number 242.

SPRINGER SDT VINTAGE – Lord Drake Kustoms

A custom “old school” … really!

In recent months many friends and customers asked Francisco A. Manen: “Do you only make coffee racers?” Are you not working with Harleys? … lately we only see you with Triumphs “.

Text and photos: Lord Drake Kustoms

Well here is the response from the Lord Drake Kustoms owner to all those questions: A custom old school with character! A real iron! An authentic Harley, of a purely American style! A Softail Springer Classic … “The Springer SDT Vintage”.

This custom motorcycle at the Lord Drake Kustoms facilities in Miami (USA), has a detail to highlight, it was commissioned by a regular client of Francisco A. Manen: “SDT designs”, which collaborated with LDK to result in this powerful beast Old School. SDT are the initials of the name of the owner of the motorcycle and the aforementioned company.

I did not want to use the typical and cheap after-market Springer hairpins, so it was clear, you had to start with a simple base to choose … a Softail Springer and to make the result more radical and authentic, what better than a Springer Classic .

The first thing was to strip the Softail Classic to the point of removing the oil tank along with all the covers of the engine and transmission, cutting the entire rear of the chassis, to start shaping it.

“The finishes were very simple: steel in its purest state with the oxide that characterizes it and semi-gloss lacquer to protect it in fenders and gas tank”

Rear mudguard, the oil tank plus the connections, the base of the fuel tank, the base and the entire seat, handlebars and exhaust pipes were manufactured by Lord Drake Kustoms. All this is accompanied by a Peanut Tank that was also modified by LDK. The rest of the engine and transmission covers were treated to change from chrome to powder with black texture.

The finishes were very simple: steel in its pure state with the oxide that characterizes it and semi-gloss lacquer to protect it in mudguards and fuel tank, as well as good doses of black Powdercoat with texture or shine and red Powdercoat in the rims of the tires. The seat upholstery was made with the same skin used by Ferrari for the interior panels and console of its cars.

“Soon the American company will be more available to all lovers of their bikes in Europe”

“Only coffee racers? Do I no longer work with Harleys?” Here is your answer … the Springer SDT Vintage.
We must not forget the essence and the soul in the world of customization, and where all this tendency comes from. Without “Harleys” and without “Old School”, today we probably would not know the term “custom bikes” and everything it represents today!

By the way, according to the owner of Lord Drake Kustoms (USA), Francisco A. Manen, soon the American company will be more available to all lovers of their bikes in Europe; LDK will soon open a branch and new facilities in the old continent … where? It is still to be revealed.

“Soulbreaker” the Off Road/Scrambler by Lord Drake Kustoms in Biker Zone Magazine

“Soulbreaker” the Off Road/Scrambler by Lord Drake Kustoms in Biker Zone Magazine

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Our Soulbreaker was the first of a long collection of Harleys cusmomized in Off Road / Scrambler style in Lord Drake Kustoms.

In addition to cover, Biker Zone made a report on his number 251.

We leave you with the transcript of the report.

SOULBREAKER – LORD DRAKE KUSTOMS

As the name says this motorcycle is “the soul part”, the one that will break your heart … and why this name?

TEXT: PAULINO ARROYO – PHOTOS: FRANCISCO ALI MANEN / ÁNGEL DE LA MAZ

As the owner of Lord Drake Kustoms, Francisco Ali Manen, tells us, the answer is very easy: many told me it was impossible to make a field Harley or a Scrambler, something so radical! and I knew that when they saw more than one of them the soul was going to split; and here they have the answer to its impossible, the “Soulbreaker”.

We have seen Francisco succeed far from Spain as a builder. It has been the cover of Biker Zone with an H-D motor racer, and its bikes of various styles have appeared on this occasion in your magazine and always for reasons more than justified by the prizes won in meetings held in the USA. where I was building until recently. Now we enjoy their jobs here, in Europe.

“THE SOULBREAKER, WILL BE THE FIRST OF A SERIES OF MOTORCYCLES TYPE OFF ROAD / SCRAMBLER THAT I HAVE THOUGHT TO DO. ALL WILL BE DIFFERENT AND WITH A SPECIAL ATTRACTION “

Francisco Ali Manen, who has been living in the United States for long periods has some maxims that he tries to respect and as he himself tells us: “There are two norms in Lord Drake Kustoms that we remain faithful to, the first one: trying to always make different bikes and the second: that there is nothing impossible “.

And this bike is the test. We are tired of always seeing the same bikes in the world of customization and especially with the Harleys, the same style of a lifetime and are even copies of each other. Many tell me that I am a “transgressor” in a world of purists … I simply believe that there is life beyond what we see with our eyes … we are in 2014 and the world of customization is expanding as never before. You can keep looking back or discover new ways! And what better way to discover new roads, than to put taco wheels on a Harley and enter a dirt road or simply cross country.

“MANY TELL ME THAT I AM A” TRANSGRESSOR “IN A WORLD OF PURISTS … I SIMPLY BELIEVE THAT THERE IS LIFE BEYOND WHAT WE SEE WITH OUR EYES”

The Soulbreaker is going to be the first of a series of off road / scrambler bikes that I plan to do. All will be different and with a special attraction, but that you will soon see … I can tell you that I am already working on the second one. But focusing on the first, we wanted to make some motorcycles to open our branch in Europe (more specifically in Malaga, Spain); jobs that would have to talk, and this Sportster has done it.

And so much that has given to talk, has been in third place in the Sportster category, in the European bike show Harley-Davidson held in St. Tropez, France, a few weeks ago, and we have two orders to make two of this style . What if! it’s style, that’s what it’s about, to create styles and tendencies not to copy, trace and repeat. This bike is in the new facilities that Lord Drake Kustoms has opened in our country, as I said before, in Malaga.

“Sixty-Nine” based on a classic Harley of the 69 in Biker Zone magazine

“Sixty-Nine” based on a classic Harley of the 69 in Biker Zone magazine

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It is the Yin and Yang of our bikes. A sweet and calm machine … but at the same time strong and powerful … But in addition to its reference to the famous sexual position, our Sixty Nine is also a tribute to those classic Harley-Davidson of 69.

Discover all its secrets in the following report that Biker Zone made in its number 258. And if you want to see more photos, do not forget to stop by the Sixty-Nine page in Lord Drake Kustoms.

SIXTY-NINE

The “69”, the truth is that I do not know if this name has it for the year of manufacture or because it refers to the acrobatic amatory posture … perhaps for both reasons.

TEXT AND PHOTOS: FRANCISCO ALI MANEN

I choose the second option because it is a motorcycle that as I was working on it seemed more daring, more sexy and perhaps even something rampant and radical Yes, but with elegance!

The year also counts because it does not stop being a reference to the old school of that time but adapted to the moment and tastes of the market now.

“THE ESCAPE IS ALSO A WORK OF LORD DRAKE KUSTOMS, AS WELL AS BOTH GUARDABARROS AND THE COMPULSORY PORTAMATRICLE”

What I did know was that I wanted something that was striking and at the same time simple and elegant. That’s why I combined the luminosity of the white with the classicism of black, with a golden touch aged between the two, but not abused because I did not want to make a vulgar motorcycle or “kani”.

With very casual style and for all audiences (for bikers and non-bikers, for young and younger), something to shoot for any promenade in the purest Californian style, and that people look at you when you pass, with a powerful sound and lively. Of course, the somewhat radical position that encourages you to punch the entrance of a highway! It’s simply “69”. Sometimes it relaxes you, and sometimes it puts you at a hundred. Regarding the changes, the belt has been replaced by a chain kit devised by LDK, something more appropriate to the new style.

“THIS MOTORBIKE HAS BEEN SECOND IN THE” SPORTSTER “CATEGORY OF THE HARLEY-DAVIDSON EUROPEAN BIKE SHOW” EUROFESTIVAL “

The height of the rear suspension has also been reduced by two inches as well as the front one modified. The escape is also a job of Lord Drake Kustoms, as well as both mudguards and the mandatory license plate, also replacing numerous parts such as handlebars, turn signals, cams, grips, footrests, spark plug wires, mirrors …

This bike has been in second place in the “Sportster” category of the Harley-Davidson European Bike Show “Eurofestival” held in May 2014 in Saint Tropez (France). It is the first of a series, of which several units have already been made; so if you are interested, contact us to make an equal or also for those who already have their motorcycle, we can do something similar or similar in a few interesting ranges of prices … you just have to call us and share your ideas and likes that we will try to adapt to your budget.
