[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Our motorcycle “Scarface” was the center of the report that the Iron Works magazine made in its digital version.[/vc_column_text][la_btn title=”Scarface” color=”primary” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.lorddrakekustoms.com%2Fscarface%2F|||”][la_divider height=”lg:32px;”][vc_single_image image=”11795″ onclick=”img_link_large”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Many times, getting out of the ordinary, brings surprising results. This is the case of this Yamaha Fazer Sixtino. A customization job by Lord Drake Kustoms who fled the classic Harley-Davidson or BMW bases. This time it was a 1998 Yamaha Fazer that inspired this bike. A challenge that will not be the first nor the last.
Biker Zone dedicated a five-page report to his number 297.
We leave you, as always, below with the transcript of the report.
YAMAHA FAZER SIXTINO
Lord Drake Kustoms
This time it was not a Harley, a BMW or a Triumph. It was a 1998 Yamaha Fazer, yes, a naked one from the late nineties; that was the motorcycle that Lord Drake Kustoms received from his client.
TEXT AND PHOTOS: ÁLVARO MANÉN
“I want you to customize a motorcycle, which can be corporate and I want it to be with a 98 Fazer.” This is what José (owner of Sixtino Design Labs) told Francisco de LDK.
-I loved the idea, Ali Manén told us, and the challenge that the base was a motorcycle so little seen and those that do not use for the custom that you see now, that they usually repeat the same model over and over again.
The client was clear that he wanted something scrambler type, with taco wheels and the gas tank in matte green. From there, Lord Drake Kustoms was free to choose the path he wanted.
“I WANTED SOME TYPE SCRAMBLER, WITH TACO WHEELS AND GASOLINE DEPOSIT IN GREEN MATE. FROM THERE, LORD DRAKE KUSTOMS WAS FREE TO CHOOSE “
A work without many difficulties, which may seem simple, but is very well done and with some very special details such as the square headlight and mask, which are what give personality to the bike and have allowed us, in addition, flee from the boring monotony of the typical seven-inch round headlights or the round headlights with grille.
The rear turn signals, once the subframe was modified, were incorporated into the interior of their tubes. The front and rear suspensions of the bike were also modified to give a more stylized line to the whole project.
The green tank of military type, with all the motorcycle in matt black, the brown seat and the detail of the light tinted in yellow has achieved for this this motorcycle a very attractive combination and that surprises everyone who sees it natural and not through a photo, starting with its own creators who did not expect this result with a motorcycle like the Yamaha Fazer.
“SURPRISE EVERYONE WHO SEES IT IN THE NATURAL AND NOT THROUGH A PHOTO, BEGINNING BY ITS OWN CREATORS THAT DID NOT EXPECT THIS RESULT”
On the website of Sixtino Design Labs (http://www.sixtino.com) there is a phrase that says: “We are passionate about combining innovative ideas with designs that please the eyes”. This phrase has been the leitmotiv of this project; It has been innovated using a motorcycle not very common so far in the world of customization and has been combined with a design based scrambler / street tracker, which has resulted in a very eye-catching and showy motorcycle, according to the opinion of all those who have seen it
The owner of LDK, has been so satisfied with this project that he has already started making another bike with the same base (Fazer del 98) but with some surprises and improvements that we will know very soon.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Today we bring you a motorcycle that is also a tribute to one of the great actors of the cinema, Al Pacino. This creation of Lord Drake Kustoms is inspired by one of his most famous characters, Scarface. A predominantly white motorcycle, with details in aged gold that remember power and money. In addition, it was manufactured in Miami, the city where Francisco Ali Manén began his career in Lord Drake Kustoms.
If you want to know more about this bike, we recommend that you visit the home page of this Bonneville Scarface.
Biker Zone in his number 241 made the following report about her.
BONNEVILLE SCARFACE
Lord Drake Kustoms
If Al Pacino had ridden a motorcycle in the famous 1983 film, it would surely have been this, the Triumph Bonneville “Scarface” newly customized by Lord Drake Kustoms (Miami, FL).
Text and photos: Francisco Ali Manen
When we asked his creator and owner of LDK, Francisco A. Manen the reason for that name, he answered the following:
“What comes to mind if we mix: Decade of the 80s, Money and Power, Drugs and the city of Miami? … Scarface!”
The look of a cafe racer or a rear with racing look of the 70-80, details in aged gold recalling the power and money, customized in Miami and with the color “white snow” do not need more words that make sense … Scarface!
The look of a cafe racer or a rear with racing look from the 70-80, details in aged gold recalling the power and money
Elegant and fast, arrogant and luxurious. This time a Triumph Bonneville T100 of 2012 was the base chosen by Francisco, to make this cafe racer. The entire rear was made by hand from a sheet of metal, using the lenses of the turn signals of the touring models of Harley-Davidson, to make the taillights. The rear turn signals were integrated into the chassis tubes that were cut and modified. The seat, the chain cover, the exhaust pipes and the handlebars were also manufactured in the facilities of Lord Drake Kustoms.
His first outing from the workshop was to get on a truck and go to the prestigious edition of the Rat’s Hole bike show held in Leesburg.
His first outing of the workshop was to get on a truck and go to the edition of the prestigious bike show Rat’s Hole held in Leesburg during the Bikefest on April 27, and could not go better; second position in the category of cafe racer. And it was not first because he had a great competitor who snatched the first place … his older sister “The Red Baron”! (writing note: the one published in number 238 of our Biker Zone).
A tribute to the great movie, to a great actor like Al Pacino and to the city where Francisco currently resides.
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It has been a few years since Lord Drake Kustoms made this bike in our workshop in Miami. As indicated by this report made by Biker Zone in number 238, this “Red Baron” was quite a rarity in his time to be based on a Dyna.
If you want to know more about this Cafe Racer, we leave you with this six-page report, where we were also the cover of the number. And do not miss the details of why its name “Red Baron”, not only for the famous aviator of the first world war …
Red Baron
Text and photos: Francisco Ali Manen
Since he came to American lands 4 years ago, the founder and owner of Lord Drake Kustoms, Francisco Ali Manen from Malaga was trying to do something different in terms of customization and it was with one of the less valued Harley motorcycles in the States. United, the Dyna.
It was after doing several cafe-racer with the Sportster model, when he decided to make one with a Big Twin engine and, what better base than a Dyna, in this case a Low Rider. He also took the opportunity to pay tribute to one of his favorite characters of the First World War, the German aviator Manfred von Richthofen and of course to his favorite Spanish band of all time, both with the name of Red Baron!
They took him for crazy, when he said to his customers and friends, that he was doing a coffee-racer with a Big Twin, but in the end he got it and as a result here we see “The Red Baron”, with a powerful Twin Cam A (1450 cc ) which gave it a little more power with a 58mm S & S carburetor and an S & S air filter. Possibly one of the first Big Twin coffee-racer in the United States.
They took him for crazy, when he told his clients and friends, that he was doing a coffee-racer with a Big Twin, but in the end he got it and as a result here we see “The Red Baron”
The entire back, including the metal seat, was manufactured by hand; the bars of the front suspension were modified and more extended air dampers were put on, all of this seasoned with a series of details, such as the transparent covers of the engine and many other changes that gave life to the new machine.
By the way the number 80 of the side plates, is the number of aircraft that the Red Baron knocked down in combat.
And the result could not be better … piloted by his constructor F. Ali Manen, he won the first prize in the Cafe Racer category.
The first “battle” of the Red Baron, was just the day after leaving the facilities of Lord Drake Kustoms in Miami for the first time; in one of the most prestigious bike shows in the USA, the Rat’s Hole, in this case the one that is celebrated in the Daytona Bike Week. And the result could not be better … piloted by his constructor F. Ali Manen, he won the first prize in the Cafe Racer category.
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Surely all of us who like the world of speed have ever seen that mythical Steve Mcqueen movie: “Le Mans”. In this film this Cafe Racer is inspired by Lord Drake Kustoms and it also takes its name from a phrase taken from its protagonist: “Racing is life … anything that happens before or after is just waiting” (The competition is life, and everything that happens before or after is simply waiting).
In this report of Biker Zone in its number 253, you can get an idea of its creation, as well as know its second version “For Brave People”.
We leave you with the transcription of this report:
Racing is Life – For Brave People
TEXT: PAULINO ARROYO – PHOTOS: FRANCISCO ALI MANEN
“It should be noted that the rear of the two bikes are made of metal in an artisanal way from an iron plate, including the two curved ones of the upper part of the tail”. As Francisco tells us from Lord Drake Kustoms.
The original tank of a Sportster Custom, the 4.5-gallon one, has also been cut on the sides and the walls have been inverted to create the interior holes of the entire tear. ” This is a very effective solution to recreate the space that, in vintage sports, was left with the intention that the pilot supported the knees, looking for the most integrated position possible in order to improve aerodynamics. And all this has a lot to do with the inspiration that leads Francisco to paint it
“RACING IS LIFE … COMPETITION IS LIFE, AND EVERYTHING THAT OCCURS BEFORE OR AFTER IS SIMPLY WAITING”
with these colors, so characteristic of the competition, but that, upon receiving demand for equal models, has decided to paint them differently, always with a common denominator, the competition.
RACING IS LIFE
If you’ve seen Steve Mcqueen’s great movie, “Le Mans,” you know the phrase: “Racing is life … anything that happens before or after is just waiting”. Hence the name of this Sportster Cafe Racer customized by Lord Drake Kustoms; inspired and dedicated to the film and its protagonist, and of course, referring to one of the great cars in the history of the competition, specifically the Porsche 917 “GULF” that McQueen, with the number 20, was driving in the aforementioned film .
In this way Francisco Manén (owner of LDK) shows us that he is passionate about Steve Mcqueen, the colors “GULF” and the mythical Porsche; so it was clear when creating what was the first unit of a limited series of Cafe Racer inspired by mythical cars and motorcycles from the world of competition … and how some ideas lead to others, and the clients are the ones who decide, one day a new client came in who noticed his motorcycles; hence the “For Brave People”.
FOR BRAVE PEOPLE
A couple of months ago Francisco received the visit of one of the owners of the Spanish clothing brand MYTORO (www.mytoro.es). “My Toro” is a clothing company from Malaga, created in 2013 and that in a record time begins to make its way into the sector in a forceful way. Part of that success is because everything is 100% Spanish.
The idea of the co-owner of the brand was to order a motorcycle from LDK for the promotion of the newly and successful clothing brand; a motorcycle “MyToro”, but in the end and after knowing the idea of Francisco to make a
“IN THE THIRD UNIT OF THE SERIES YES, THERE WILL BE MANY CHANGES AND COLORS VERY, VERY KNOWN, BUT THAT IS ANOTHER HISTORY!”
limited series of motorbikes cafe racer and see the “Racing is Life”, which was already sold, the owner decided to start by making a personal motorcycle and was number two in the series, choosing the colors of a well-known brand of tobacco (white , red and gold). The name chosen by the owner for the motorcycle “For Brave People”, is the slogan of the brand MyToro (“For brave people”) but translated into English.
In this case the client did not want many changes with respect to the first of the would be (the Gulf), except in the colors and details as the rear pilots or anti-heat tape in the escapes.
But there will be surprises in the future. According to the owner of LDK, Francisco Manén, “in the third unit of the series there will be many changes and very, very well known colors, but that is another story!”.
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It has been one of the most amazing bikes that Lord Drake Kustoms has created this 2018. “Mardanis” has been an unusual project, based on a BMW. Biker Zone published a five-page report that explains how its design and implementation process was.
We leave you with the text extract.
The wolf king … Mardanis
Sexual debauchery, Christian clothes, eating habits that included alcohol consumption … Mohamed Ibn Mardanis (Nicknamed the wolf king of Murcia) became famous on both sides of the border for his lifestyle and if he had reigned in these times, I would probably have ridden this BMW R1200S, recently finished by Lord Drake Kustoms.
Maybe it was, the most fun and exciting project of LDK last year for the spectacular result and especially for being a BMW base not very common so far in the world of customization.
Francisco Ali (owner of LDK), received a call from Fernando Cuello in which he commented that Lord Drake Kustoms had been recommended as the right company to make his dream come true: A BMW and unique and brutal.
In a later meeting the project was finalized and finally it was decided to use a BMW R1200S from 2007 as a base. Fernando’s instructions to Francisco to make the bike were clear and strict: matt black and orange, a huge deposit, Cafe Racer style but with Tacos wheels and as simple as possible.
Work began and halfway with the tank almost finished Francisco noticed that it was too big to paint everything in matt black and that you should add some orange graphic, called Fernando to explain it and from there came the idea of putting a name . “Mardanis,” said Fernando, and then explained the origin of it; After the conversation and without having seen the bike yet, Fernando’s expectations multiplied, he was so excited about the project that he decided he would not see it until it was finished and then he would make a big party in his honor.
When the day finally came when the “Mardanis” unveiled its owner and a group of friends, it was at the spectacular party that was held on the farm where the ruins of the castle of Mohamed Ibn Mardanis “The Wolf King” , in Monteagudo (Murcia).[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
Biker Zone dedicated a complete report in its number 272, which you transcribe below.
We do not know if Sean Connery, would have ridden this motorcycle in the movie, but surely he would have noticed it when he saw it happen.
Goldfinger is the third film in the “Bond” saga and also the third film by Sean Connery playing the MI6 agent named … Bond, James Bond. But also “Goldfinger” is the first unit of the third line of cafe racer motorcycles with Sportster base of Lord Drake Kustoms that, together with the golden color that stands out in the whole bike, has given enough argument to name it; according to Francisco Manén, owner of LDK.
In particular of this new line that has been released in 2016 have already sold three units (two of them to Harley Davidson dealers, one outside the Spanish borders and one in the peninsula, which will soon recognize the whole world but for now you can not say more). It is inspired by the previous and successful line of cafe racer (the “Stormracer” models) that we saw in Moto Madrid last year, the “Goldfinger” presents changes such as the rear tail, the seat, the lighthouse and the installation of semi-rests , that everything together gives a more modern and sporty touch, without leaving aside the elegance.
“The “Goldfinger” presents changes such as the rear tail, the seat, the headlight and the installation of semi-handles”
In terms of colors and being the first unit, something striking and bold has been sought, hence the gold and white, in combination with black. White shine for the sides, impressive white pearl in the central bands (that you have to see in the sunlight) and pearl gold details in pinstripings, rims and other details.
Remember that Lord Drake Kustoms in addition to its central facilities in Miami, Florida (USA) has facilities in Malaga, from where it offers service of transformation and modification of motorcycles for all Spain and the rest of Europe, always regardless of the style or brand of the motorcycle and of course with budgets for all budgets.
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Today we bring you a five page report that Biker Zone made us in its number 260. It is “Evel Knievel” a motorcycle homage to the famous acrobat. In this article you will discover some of the secrets and curiosities that this motorcycle keeps.
This is a very curious story. Almost a year ago, from France and just after the scrambler “Soulbreaker” (which was carried in this magazine), an amateur got in touch with Francisco Ali (owner of Lord Drake Kustoms).
The owner of this motorcycle was interested in the scrambler and in the work of LDK and since then he maintained contact with them, making a faithful follow-up of the company and its activities. I constantly sent them emails or called them by phone to express their opinion about the bikes they had made or to talk about the bike they would like to have, the style, etc., etc. Meanwhile in LDK, they tried to do something new with the scramblers or at least one with a more striking design and aesthetic. One day Francisco painted on paper the idea that he had of a Scrambler and that it was in turn a tribute to the great American legend, Evel Knievel.
A detail to note is that, as in other LDK jobs, Francisco’s own son (Álvaro Manén, only 9 years old) is the one who has chosen the design and the combination of the colors.
One day Francisco painted on paper the idea that he had of a Scrambler and that it was in turn a tribute to the great American legend, Evel Knievel.
As always he sent some drawings to his contacts, and / or possible clients that might be interested in the project he had just printed on paper … and the hare jumped. Michel (the French gentleman already mentioned) saw the light and said: “That’s the bike I want! The drawing you sent me, the tribute to Evel Knievel. ” As soon as he could he got on the plane and flew to Malaga to meet Francisco, his installations and his work and to finalize, in person, the details of the project.
At the moment, this scrambler rolls by the tracks of earth of the French west
After the meeting and a meticulous study of the three sketches on paper, the design that finally became reality was agreed upon. And that was what happened two months later: the new scrambler “Evel Knievel” by Lord Drake Kustoms saw the light. At the moment, this scrambler rolls by the tracks of earth of the French west and Lord Drake Kustoms is preparing the second tribute version “Evel Knievel”, but that is another story.
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It is one of our most loved bikes by our followers, it’s about Envy. That is why we want to share with you this six page report that the magazine Biker Zone made us in its number 274. Francisco Ali Manén, builder and owner of Lord Drake Kustoms, explains its construction process and some more anecdotes of this incredible motorcycle.
As expressed in this report:
“The acceptance and response of the public with this bike is being incredible, to the point that it has already received two orders to make two units with a design similar to that of the “Envy “
There are many details that make “Envy” so special, from the details of leather integration in many of its parts, as in the front mask, to the simulation of all the wiring inside.
Envy is one of the jewels of our crown and in this report you can discover many more curiosities about it. As for example, that his number is very special because it is a date referring to a person much loved by Francisco Alí Manén. Or also, the reason for his name “Envy” (envy); its owner explains that channeling bad feelings into hard work achieves rewards like this:
And remember: “Envy” is bad, very bad, “envy” kills. Do not envy anything or anyone, just work hard and everything will come … transform envy into inspiration and motivation … that’s the secret!
This motorcycle, based on a 2001 Harley Davidson Fat Boy, was presented in 2016 at the “MotoMadrid” show and has been shown at a multitude of events throughout Europe and on television programs.
We hope you enjoy it.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]In its issue number 283, Biker Zone, the magazine specializing in the world of custom motorcycle, conducted a full-page interview of Francisco Ali Manén, builder and owner of Lord Drake Kustoms.
In it, he tells us anecdotes of his beginnings and his vision of the present, past and future of the custom world.
