“It should be noted that the rear of the two bikes are made of metal in an artisanal way from an iron plate, including the two curved ones of the upper part of the tail”. As Francisco tells us from Lord Drake Kustoms.

The original tank of a Sportster Custom, the 4.5-gallon one, has also been cut on the sides and the walls have been inverted to create the interior holes of the entire tear. ” This is a very effective solution to recreate the space that, in vintage sports, was left with the intention that the pilot supported the knees, looking for the most integrated position possible in order to improve aerodynamics. And all this has a lot to do with the inspiration that leads Francisco to paint it

“RACING IS LIFE … COMPETITION IS LIFE, AND EVERYTHING THAT OCCURS BEFORE OR AFTER IS SIMPLY WAITING”

with these colors, so characteristic of the competition, but that, upon receiving demand for equal models, has decided to paint them differently, always with a common denominator, the competition.

RACING IS LIFE

If you’ve seen Steve Mcqueen’s great movie, “Le Mans,” you know the phrase: “Racing is life … anything that happens before or after is just waiting”. Hence the name of this Sportster Cafe Racer customized by Lord Drake Kustoms; inspired and dedicated to the film and its protagonist, and of course, referring to one of the great cars in the history of the competition, specifically the Porsche 917 “GULF” that McQueen, with the number 20, was driving in the aforementioned film .

In this way Francisco Manén (owner of LDK) shows us that he is passionate about Steve Mcqueen, the colors “GULF” and the mythical Porsche; so it was clear when creating what was the first unit of a limited series of Cafe Racer inspired by mythical cars and motorcycles from the world of competition … and how some ideas lead to others, and the clients are the ones who decide, one day a new client came in who noticed his motorcycles; hence the “For Brave People”.

FOR BRAVE PEOPLE

A couple of months ago Francisco received the visit of one of the owners of the Spanish clothing brand MYTORO (www.mytoro.es). “My Toro” is a clothing company from Malaga, created in 2013 and that in a record time begins to make its way into the sector in a forceful way. Part of that success is because everything is 100% Spanish.

The idea of the co-owner of the brand was to order a motorcycle from LDK for the promotion of the newly and successful clothing brand; a motorcycle “MyToro”, but in the end and after knowing the idea of Francisco to make a

“IN THE THIRD UNIT OF THE SERIES YES, THERE WILL BE MANY CHANGES AND COLORS VERY, VERY KNOWN, BUT THAT IS ANOTHER HISTORY!”

limited series of motorbikes cafe racer and see the “Racing is Life”, which was already sold, the owner decided to start by making a personal motorcycle and was number two in the series, choosing the colors of a well-known brand of tobacco (white , red and gold). The name chosen by the owner for the motorcycle “For Brave People”, is the slogan of the brand MyToro (“For brave people”) but translated into English.

In this case the client did not want many changes with respect to the first of the would be (the Gulf), except in the colors and details as the rear pilots or anti-heat tape in the escapes.

But there will be surprises in the future. According to the owner of LDK, Francisco Manén, “in the third unit of the series there will be many changes and very, very well known colors, but that is another story!”.
