[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Today we bring you a five page report that Biker Zone made us in its number 260. It is “Evel Knievel” a motorcycle homage to the famous acrobat. In this article you will discover some of the secrets and curiosities that this motorcycle keeps.
This is a very curious story. Almost a year ago, from France and just after the scrambler “Soulbreaker” (which was carried in this magazine), an amateur got in touch with Francisco Ali (owner of Lord Drake Kustoms).
The owner of this motorcycle was interested in the scrambler and in the work of LDK and since then he maintained contact with them, making a faithful follow-up of the company and its activities. I constantly sent them emails or called them by phone to express their opinion about the bikes they had made or to talk about the bike they would like to have, the style, etc., etc. Meanwhile in LDK, they tried to do something new with the scramblers or at least one with a more striking design and aesthetic. One day Francisco painted on paper the idea that he had of a Scrambler and that it was in turn a tribute to the great American legend, Evel Knievel.
A detail to note is that, as in other LDK jobs, Francisco’s own son (Álvaro Manén, only 9 years old) is the one who has chosen the design and the combination of the colors.
One day Francisco painted on paper the idea that he had of a Scrambler and that it was in turn a tribute to the great American legend, Evel Knievel.
As always he sent some drawings to his contacts, and / or possible clients that might be interested in the project he had just printed on paper … and the hare jumped. Michel (the French gentleman already mentioned) saw the light and said: “That’s the bike I want! The drawing you sent me, the tribute to Evel Knievel. ” As soon as he could he got on the plane and flew to Malaga to meet Francisco, his installations and his work and to finalize, in person, the details of the project.
At the moment, this scrambler rolls by the tracks of earth of the French west
After the meeting and a meticulous study of the three sketches on paper, the design that finally became reality was agreed upon. And that was what happened two months later: the new scrambler “Evel Knievel” by Lord Drake Kustoms saw the light. At the moment, this scrambler rolls by the tracks of earth of the French west and Lord Drake Kustoms is preparing the second tribute version “Evel Knievel”, but that is another story.
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It is one of our most loved bikes by our followers, it’s about Envy. That is why we want to share with you this six page report that the magazine Biker Zone made us in its number 274. Francisco Ali Manén, builder and owner of Lord Drake Kustoms, explains its construction process and some more anecdotes of this incredible motorcycle.
As expressed in this report:
“The acceptance and response of the public with this bike is being incredible, to the point that it has already received two orders to make two units with a design similar to that of the “Envy “
There are many details that make “Envy” so special, from the details of leather integration in many of its parts, as in the front mask, to the simulation of all the wiring inside.
Envy is one of the jewels of our crown and in this report you can discover many more curiosities about it. As for example, that his number is very special because it is a date referring to a person much loved by Francisco Alí Manén. Or also, the reason for his name “Envy” (envy); its owner explains that channeling bad feelings into hard work achieves rewards like this:
And remember: “Envy” is bad, very bad, “envy” kills. Do not envy anything or anyone, just work hard and everything will come … transform envy into inspiration and motivation … that’s the secret!
This motorcycle, based on a 2001 Harley Davidson Fat Boy, was presented in 2016 at the “MotoMadrid” show and has been shown at a multitude of events throughout Europe and on television programs.
We hope you enjoy it.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
