Francisco Ali, told us that there was always someone who asked them why in Lord Drake Kustoms, they only made sports models, scrambler… Well, the answer is this: “If you have to do sportster, you do sportster, but if you have to do BMW … what better way to start than with one like this?”.

This model of motorcycle has been one of the most used last in the work of customization and transformation of motorcycles, and is that despite the years these classic BMW R, have not lost their charm and continue to interest the public, in addition to offering many opportunities for lucidity if you work with taste.

-In concrete, Francisco told us, this motorcycle was sent to us by a the customer was practically in boxes, lacked quantity of pieces and the motorbike was in such a condition that it could not be used for scrap metal.

The transformation was carried out in our workshop in Malaga, and the the first thing that had to be done when he arrived at the workshop was to finish to dismantle it and to begin to pickle, to squirt and to paint in powder. all the pieces and parts that were still salvageable, like the chassis, tires, engine, etc.

The client was looking for something elegant with a predominance of black, but I didn’t feel like doing the classic and topical coffee-racer, but rather something more like scrambler or brat… I admit that it didn’t take us long to decide to make a very old school scrambler, a bike that besides the scrambler bearing, had something of those old BMWs of yesteryear. Although maybe a mixture of bobber and scrambler but all very vintage… and here’s the result.

“THE CLIENT SEARCHED THE ELEGANT SOMETHING IN WHICH BLACK PREDOMINED, BUT TO ME IT WAS NOT APPETIED TO MAKE THE CLASSICAL AND TOPICAL CAFE-RACER, BUT BEST SOMETHING OTHER TYPE SCRAMBLER OR BRAT…”.

The gloss black, the matt black and the textured black have been combined to give this look sober and elegant to the motorbike, to which we have placed a single-seater armchair and some handcrafted fenders made to measure, which give it the touch old school and vintage that we were looking for…

All hand controls are new and accompanied by a street handlebar, although the original lighthouse has been preserved and the fork (somewhat modified) to respect the spirit of this BMW R100.

We are currently working on two other BMW R100s, that very soon you will see in the pages of Biker Zone, that will give you continuity to this first one.
