For decades, custom culture has been a phenomenon primarily linked to the United States. However, in recent years, Europe—and especially Spain—has experienced a real awakening around the world of custom motorcycles and motorcycle customization. From classic bobber style lovers to café racer and scrambler enthusiasts, the custom movement has taken firm root on this side of the Atlantic.
What is custom culture?
Custom culture in Spain and Europe isn’t just about transforming a motorcycle. It’s a way of life. It represents freedom, individuality, creative rebellion, and a love of detail. It involves taking a motorcycle—be it a Harley-Davidson, Triumph, BMW, or any other brand—and transforming it into a unique piece that reflects its owner’s personality.
At Lord Drake Kustoms, we know this well. As a custom motorcycle workshop based in Malaga and Miami, we’ve been working on unique projects for clients from all over Europe and the world for years. We’ve witnessed how this culture has evolved and how more and more people are embracing it, not just as riders, but as true artists of the asphalt.
Growth in Spain
Spain has seen a notable increase in interest in motorcycle customization. Cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, and Malaga have become key hubs for converted motorcycle enthusiasts. Specialized fairs and events, such as Motorbeach, Mulafest, and the Barcelona Motorcycle Film Festival, demonstrate that customizing has ceased to be a passing fad and has established itself as a growing community.
Furthermore, the ease of approving conversions and access to high-quality parts and accessories has encouraged many bikers to take the step toward customizing their motorcycles. Social media has also played a key role, showcasing spectacular projects born in Spanish workshops, like ours, to the world.
Europe: an expanding market
Beyond our borders, countries like Germany, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom are also experiencing an unprecedented boom in custom culture in Europe. There are magazines, blogs, festivals, and entire circuits dedicated exclusively to the world of customized motorcycles. Brands like Ducati, BMW, and Royal Enfield have launched models specifically designed for customization, understanding that today’s customer no longer seeks just performance, but also identity and style.
The European custom community is diverse and rich. There are those who seek to restore classic motorcycles from the 70s and 80s, and those who are committed to transforming modern models with a vintage or futuristic touch. The interesting thing is that everyone has a place in this diverse and open movement.
The role of workshops like Lord Drake Kustoms
At Lord Drake Kustoms, we’ve actively contributed to this growth, developing some of the most renowned custom motorcycle projects in Europe. Our creations have appeared in specialized magazines, won awards, and—most importantly—have delighted bikers across the continent.
We have top-notch facilities in Malaga, fully certified certifications, and a team of experts who handle every detail: design, paint, mechanics, electrical work, upholstery, finishes—all under one roof. We offer not only complete conversions but also maintenance and specific upgrades for those looking to take their first step into the custom world.
Much more than motorcycles: a lifestyle
Custom culture in Spain goes beyond workshops and motorcycles. It also encompasses a way of dressing, traveling, listening to music, and meeting other enthusiasts. It’s not uncommon to see gatherings of hundreds of people united by that shared passion that only a custom motorcycle can convey.
It’s also a way to celebrate creativity and craftsmanship in an increasingly standardized world. And that’s why more and more people—men and women of all ages—are choosing to become part of this culture that blends past, present, and future with a roaring engine in the background.

When we talk about top-level custom motorcycles, it’s inevitable to mention Lord Drake Kustoms, a brand that has transcended borders and become an international benchmark in the world of custom motorcycles. But how did it all begin? The story begins in Malaga, at the hands of a man with a clear vision and indomitable passion: Fran Manen.
The beginning of a dream
From a very young age, Fran felt a strong connection with motorcycles. What began as a hobby soon transformed into a lifestyle. But his story goes beyond his passion for two wheels: he was also a musician, entrepreneur, and tireless traveler. It was precisely on one of his trips, specifically to the United States, that he found the inspiration that would change his life forever.
There, he became fascinated by custom culture and the American biker lifestyle. What would later become Lord Drake Kustoms was born in a Miami garage. The name is no coincidence: “Lord” represents elegance and distinction; “Drake” symbolizes adventure and rebellion; and “Kustoms” reflects the soul of the workshop, where each bike is unique, handmade, and with its own character.
From Miami to Malaga… and to the world
After several years in the US, Fran decided to bring his experience and style to Europe. He established his main office in Malaga, Spain, and opened a second workshop in Miami, thus consolidating LDK’s presence on both sides of the Atlantic.
In a very short time, Lord Drake Kustoms began to stand out on the international scene, participating in high-level competitions and winning numerous awards and recognitions. His creations have been published in specialized magazines around the world, and some of his models have become icons of custom design.
More than motorcycles: a way of life
What sets LDK apart isn’t just the quality of its motorcycles, but the personal and artistic approach it brings to each project. Each motorcycle is a work of art on wheels, designed to reflect its owner’s personality and bear Fran Manen’s unmistakable style.
Today, Lord Drake Kustoms is a must-see in the world of modified Harley-Davidsons, café racers, scramblers, bobbers, and more. Customers from Europe, America, Asia, and the Middle East trust the brand to make their two-wheeled dreams come true.
The future on wheels
With an unstoppable trajectory, Lord Drake Kustoms continues to grow, innovate, and set trends. And the best is yet to come. Because as Fran Manen says: “It’s not just about motorcycles, it’s about passion, art, and freedom.”
In recent years, the Scrambler style has captured the hearts of motorsports and two-wheeled design enthusiasts. This type of custom scrambler bike, with its rebellious air, adventurous spirit, and retro off-road aesthetic, has gained ground not only on the road… but also in the world’s most exclusive motorcycle customization workshops.
What is a scrambler motorcycle?
A Scrambler is a bike that blends the best of both road and off-road. It features hybrid tires, a raised exhaust, a flat seat, cropped fenders, and a vintage aesthetic reminiscent of the enduro bikes of the 1960s and 1970s. In essence: ruggedness, simplicity, and a whole lot of personality.
Why transform your motorcycle into a scrambler?
More and more customers are asking us how to transform their motorcycle into a scrambler. And with good reason: this style is perfect for those looking for a unique bike, capable of tackling all types of terrain without sacrificing style or comfort. From a BMW to a Triumph or a Ducati, almost any motorcycle can be transformed into a spectacular scrambler with the right work.
Scrambler in Spain: a growing trend
In Spain, the Scrambler style is more alive than ever. In cities like Madrid, Malaga, and Barcelona, as well as in rural settings, we see authentic, customized gems with an off-road soul. At Lord Drake Kustoms, we’ve been leading this trend for years, with recognized projects both at home and abroad.
Do you want your own custom scrambler?
At Lord Drake Kustoms, we specialize in creating custom scrambler motorcycles. We design each project according to your style and needs, from scratch or based on your current bike. Our workshop in Malaga is open to receive your idea… and transform it into an adventure-ready machine.
