YAMAHA VMAX NEORACER

This YAMAHA VMAX NEORACER is a new v4 beast created by Lord Drake Kustoms in his workshop of transformations of café racer motorcycles in Spain that has left everyone surprised, because it is a totally different work to what we usually do in our custom workshops.

With more than 30 years behind it, this fully customized Yamaha V Max 1200 has resurfaced with a new look thanks to the work of Fran Manen and his team at Lord Drake Kustoms with facilities in Malaga (Spain).

A BEAST V4

Despite being a historic bike, it has never ceased to be a V4 acceleration beast and when it came into the hands of the LDK team it presented a fairly acceptable mechanical condition, but its owner wanted to give it a new life, a more modern look and that’s where Fran Manen decided that in this project in addition to changing the aesthetic appearance, could improve some of the performance of the bike such as suspensions and brakes. At the time of making this bike transformed, the style was not very clear and as they say in Lord Drake Kustoms; it is neither a cafe racer bike or a sport bike, or a scrambler bike … is a Yamaha transformed Neoracer style as they usually define this type of customization of motorcycles that have a mixture of customization styles and a modern and more naked look.

MODIFICATIONS

The first thing that has been done with this custom Yamaha, which has been called “YAMAHA VMAX NEORACER” has been to disassemble it completely, then the first thing that was done was to install in the front a new inverted fork with two brake calipers and a new rim with improved brake disc, which has improved the braking of this beast without any doubt, not to mention the new aesthetics that has been achieved to the front of this custom bike.

Next, a tracker type handlebar and an LED headlight, somewhat different from those usually seen on current modified motorcycles, were installed. As final details at the front, a metal face shield and a minimalist front fender were installed; both handcrafted by LDK.

In the rear has been carried out a great job. It has been cut the entire subframe and has been handcrafted a spectacular tail with integrated seat that is also removable thanks to the original opening systems that has this bike to access the fuel tank.

Finally, new Ohlins shock absorbers, a handcrafted license plate holder made by LDK, LED turn signals, new modified exhaust tails and the Motogadget digital odometer are just some of the details.

MATT GRAPHITE GREY

As for the finishes, the bike had to be simple and not have a very flashy paint job, as it had to highlight the muscles and lines of this powerful Yamaha VMax Neoracer by itself. For that reason, the entire bike has been painted in matte graphite gray and black and the seat has been upholstered in imitation alcantara.

A HISTORIC MOTORCYCLE

The result speaks for itself … a historic bike, which has gone from being a V4 beast with an old and perhaps somewhat outdated look, to be a new YAMAHA VMAX NEORACER 1200 with the air of a naked bike, cafe racer and above all a beastly bike.
