SPORTSTER “HAND ON THE TORCH”
This SPORTSTER “HAND ON THE TORCH” is a fast paced scrambler bike customised by Francisco Ali Manen and his team at Lord Drake Kustoms in Malaga (SPAIN).
BASED ON AN ALBUM COVER
At the request of his client, Fran Manen (Owner of LDK) was commissioned to make this Harley Davidson scrambler, but on this occasion, inspired by a very special theme… The cover of a jazz rap band’s album.
The name of the chosen album is “HAND ON THE TORCH” (hence the name of this Sportster Scrambler); an album belonging to the jazz and hip-hop fusion group Us3 and sporting a colourful cover on a cream or beige background. And it was precisely at this point that the client indicated that, instead of cream or beige for the background, he preferred white.
MODIFICATIONS
This Harley Davidson Sportster “HAND ON THE TORCH” is a custom bike built on a XL 883 low and has been based on the transformation of the famous BULTRACKER and SOULBREAKER models that Lord Drake Kustoms usually uses in their customisation work of Harley bikes with scrambler style.
The 2 in 1 exhaust RSD tracker together with Harley BIG SPOKE rims are as usual some of the characteristic components of these models and of course the BMW 1 inch handlebars, the Motogadget Mini odometer integrated in the handlebar turrets.

The mudguards, number plate holder and spoiler are handcrafted by LDK. And the front suspension has been modified and fitted with top covers (on which the name “HAND ON THE TORCH” has been painted) and the rear has been fitted with nothing more and nothing less than a pair of OHLINS shock absorbers for Sportster.
MULTICOLOR
Finally, a spectacular paint job inspired by the album cover with different colours such as blue, orange, red and green on a white background has been used on the two mudguards, fuel tank and also on the number holders. The GMR graphics and the number 411 are two other details airbrushed on the fuel tank and number holders at the customer’s request.
Other parts of the bike are painted in black and white with gold details, such as the front suspension cylinders and the rear swingarm.
ROLLING AT FULL SPEED
This Harley Davidson Sportster “HAND ON THE TORCH” once it was finalised by Lord Drake Kustoms, has found its way into the hands of its owner and is now probably rolling through the streets at full speed thanks to the brutal sound of its exhausts that are music … although not exactly jazz or hip-hop!
