INDIAN SCOUT 240 DARKER

At Lord Drake Kustoms, we present one of our latest transformations on one of the platforms we know best: the Indian Scout. This time, it’s the Indian Scout 240 Darker, a motorcycle created for a client in Belgium who wanted a more muscular, aggressive, and exclusive Scout, while maintaining the elegance and characteristic lines of the original model.

The objective was clear from the start: to enhance the dark, bobber, and muscle bike character of the Indian Scout, giving special prominence to its rear end. To achieve this, one of the key elements of this build was the installation of a spectacular 240mm rear wheel kit, along with a new rim that radically changes the motorcycle’s proportions.

The result is a much wider and more imposing Indian Scout, especially when viewed from the rear, but without any excessive styling. The philosophy behind this build was to make all the modifications appear to be an integral part of the bike from the start.

One of Lord Drake Kustoms‘ specialties is precisely the transformations with wide wheel kits for Indian Scout.

We have 240mm rear wheel kits for Indian Scout, as well as different options for custom rims, allowing each project to be configured according to the style the customer is looking for.

Installing a rear wheel of this size isn’t simply a matter of fitting a wider tire. It requires ensuring the entire assembly functions correctly, maintains proper geometry, and, above all, looks perfectly integrated.

In this Indian Scout 240 Darker, the 240 rear wheel becomes one of the main design elements and provides that muscle bike image that we were looking for from the beginning of the project.

To further improve the handling and appearance of this Indian Scout, we have installed Öhlins shock absorbers, a choice that brings quality, performance and a clearly premium look to the build.

Another element that defines the personality of this motorcycle is its new Freedom Performance 2-in-1 exhaust. Its design fits perfectly with the Darker concept: compact, aggressive, and visually much sportier than the original system.

In addition, the 2-in-1 exhaust system allows for a much cleaner look to the side of the motorcycle and visually enhances both the V-Twin engine and the enormous rear wheel.

Motogadget turn signals integrated into the grips

When working on a motorcycle with such clean lines, the small details can make a huge difference.

That’s why we’ve installed Motogadget turn signals integrated into the ends of the handlebar grips. This solution eliminates visually bulky elements at the front, achieving a minimalist look, especially important for a bobber and dark custom build like this one.

The result is a much cleaner front end, where virtually nothing interferes with the overall silhouette of the motorcycle.

The addition of the 240mm wheel also required a complete redesign of the rear aesthetics.

To achieve this, at Lord Drake Kustoms we’ve crafted a custom rear fender, specifically adapted to the new wheel dimensions. The design aims to cover only what’s necessary to maintain a short, muscular, and visually lightweight rear end.

We have also manufactured a handmade license plate support, visually moving this element to avoid breaking the lines of the new rear.
It is precisely these artisanal works that allow each Indian Scout that leaves our workshop to have a different personality.

Black dominates virtually the entire motorcycle and makes the different parts blend together, while the small metallic details of the engine provide the necessary contrast.

We weren’t just looking for an Indian Scout with a bigger wheel. We wanted to create an Indian Scout 240 that looked lower, wider, more powerful, and more aggressive.

And so the INDIAN SCOUT 240 DARKER by Lord Drake Kustoms was born.
