BMW R45 ARMY SCRAMBLER
The BMW R45 ARMY scrambler, is one of the works of customization and modification of a BMW that we have done in our cafe racer and scrambler workshop in Spain and that without being a work of high-level motorbike transformation, has given spectacular results.
AN UPGRADED MOTORBIKE
Fran Manen (owner of Lord Drake Kustoms) received this bike from a customer from Alicante, who initially wanted to do something very very basic, but little by little the level was raised and in the end this classic BMW R45 has become a beautiful scrambler motorcycle scrambler bike, part of it due to the elegant colour combination that combines black with glossy military green and brown seat.
MODIFICATIONS
The first thing that was done was to dismantle the whole bike to get it ready, sandblast the parts and then paint them with electrostatic powder coating. The front suspension was then modified and the two-seater scrambler subframe for BMW R was produced. A Biltwell tracker handlebar and Harley Davidson shock absorbers formed the frame of this BMW R scrambler.
Handcrafted seat
For the BMW R45 army scrambler, the seat base was made and then upholstered in brown leatherette with rhombuses and a handmade number plate holder.
Motogadget Mini Odometer
The front mudguard has also been shortened and shorter BMW R exhaust tailpipes have been fitted along with the typical black heat tape on the tailpipes.
LED turn signals, motogadget mini digital odometer, biltwell grips, mirrors and other details such as the ignition key on the side or the air handles, have completed the customisation work on a scrambler bike that used to be a modest low-displacement BMW and now looks like one of its big sisters the BMW R100 or R80 scrambler.
MILITARY GREEN
The paintwork is all black except for the fuel tank, which was originally intended to be matt military green as is usual on military vehicles, but in the end it was decided to leave the finish glossy, which has given it a touch of superior elegance.
