“ENVY” it may seem like a strange name for a motorcycle, but considering that it is probably one of the best Harley Davidson Softail custom to date by Lord Drake Kustoms and one of the modified bikes that has attracted the most, its name makes sense.
A Harley Softail custom destined to compete in the Custom Bike Shows
This was the first transformed motorcycle that Lord Drake Kustoms performed in his Harley workshop in Malaga to present it at a Custom Bike Show.
“With this motorcycle, we wanted a transformed Harley that was different from what Harley workshops do in Spain. A custom motorcycle with a vintage and racing style and above all a tribute to the famous Boardtracker motorcycles, but with current airs. And I think the resulting mix has been up to the task… at least it’s something totally different.”
The infinite details of the“ Envy ”
The colin, the tank, the handlebars, the numbers, the front mask, the front fender or the front grille; These are some of the pieces that have been made exclusively for this Harley Davidson Softail Fat Boy transformed on a whim.
Note that all wiring is internal (inside the handlebar, chassis, etc). In addition, it has been embellished the Twin Cam engine with a set of transparent covers. Leather details as in the case of the footrest, handlebars or the front mask itself. If you look closely, you will discover endless more details.
It is not a Cafe Racer motorcycle or a Bobber; It is a motorcycle with a Boardtracker air, a mixture of Old School and Custom styles. The number “76” was very easy to choose …. the year of birth of Fran Manen’s couple.
Fran tells us: “Some friends and colleagues in the sector who have Cafe Racer workshops in Spain or other types of motorcycle transformation workshops outside the world of Harley Davidson, have asked me several times what style of Moto Custom is this. The truth is that some love it and others hate it.”
“Envy”, a winning Harley Davidson Softail custom.
In 2016, this motorcycle was in the 5th position worldwide (modified Harley category) in the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building held in Germany.
Remember! The “Envy” is bad, very bad, the “Envy” kills … Do not envy anything or anyone, just work hard and everything will come. Transform envy into inspiration and motivation, that’s the secret!
This custom Harley Davidson Dyna Low Rider FXDL converted to Cafe Racer motorcycle byLord Drake Kustoms in his custom workshop in Miami, is probably one of the first Harley Cafe Racer with Twin Cam engine.
The Red Baron flies again … but this time on two wheels
Since he arrived in the Americas in 2009, the founder and owner of Lord Drake Kustoms, the Malaga-born Fran Manen, was determined to make a transformed motorcycle somewhat different and that’s why he opted for the model Dyna Low Rider by Harley Davidson.
This model is one of the motorcycles of the range Harley less valued in the United States. It was after doing several Cafe Racer motorcycles with Sportster bases when he decided to make one with a Big Twin engine; and what a better base than a Dyna, a Low Rider in this case.
People think that he was crazy when he told his clients and friends that he was doing a Cafe Racermotorcycle with a Harley Davidson Big Twin model, but in the end, he succeeded. As a result, the “Red Baron” has a powerful Twin Cam A (1,450cc) engine, which gave it a bit more power with a 58mm S&S carburetor and an S&S air filter.
This Dyna Cafe Racer is possibly one of the first Cafe Racer Big Twin in the United States and perhaps in the world. By the way, the number 80 of the side plates, is the number of planes that the Red Baron shot down in combat.
The entire metal back was manufactured by hand, including the seat. The front suspension bars were modified and longer air cushions were placed. All this seasoned with a series of details, such as the transparent engine covers and many more that gave life to the new machine.
A custom Harley Davidson Dyna full of awards and recognition
The first fight of the Red Baron was just the day after leaving for the first time the Harley Davidson workshop of Lord Drake Kustoms in Miami. In one of the most prestigious Custom Bike Shows in the USA, the Rat’s Hole; in this case in which it is celebrated in Daytona Bike Week.
And the result could not be better. Piloted by its builder, Fran Manen, he won first prize in the Cafe Racer category.
This motorcycle has won the following US BIKE SHOWS:
2013 DAYTONA BIKE WEEK BIKE SHOW (Daytona, FL –USA) Category Cafe Racer
2013 RAT´S HOLE BIKE SHOW (Leesburg, FL –USA) Category Cafe Racer
2013 FESTIVALS OF SPEED BIKE SHOW (Mission Inn Resort, FL –USA)
Long live the Baron …

A few months ago, David contacted Lord Drake Kustoms in his workshopHarley Davidson in Malaga. There he told them his ideas to transform a motorcycleHarley Davidson Softail Deuce FXSTD that he had just acquired in a Harley Bobber.
A Harley Bobber “Trending Topic”
Coincidentally, at that time, David was about to present a new fashion and accessories brand called “Trending Topic”.
Fran Manen (owner of LDK) and David had a meeting at the LDK motorcycle customization workshop, where it was clear that the motorcycle should be something different. He wanted to use it as a corporate image, so he didn’t want the typical thing seen so far with the Softail Deuce.
Fran Manen was very excited about the idea because among other reasons, the Softail Deuce is his Harley favorite and it was the first Harley he had and with which he started in the world of motorcycle customization and transformation.
The owner of “Trending Topic” said that he wanted a motorcycle with a Sportster peanut-type fuel tank. The rear should keep the Harley tire original lenticular (which characterizes the Deuce models) and should have the logo of its brand (a Hashtag).
From that base, Fran began working on the project. After several tests, it was determined that the motorcycle’s paint should be all black, like a suit. The exception would be the gas tank that would go white like the shirt that usually accompanies a black suit.
The process of adapting the Harley Softail Deuce in a Harley Bobber
It began by modifying and adapting a type tank Sportster“Peanut”, replace the ignition and contact and replace the handlebar with a new model 1” drag bar that would give width to the motorcycle.
Afterward, the rear of the Softail chassis was modified and was manufactured with Bobber-type rear fender and the integrated LED pilot. The floating seat without springs with the brand “Trending Topic” was inserted in the back.
Many other details were added, such as the front wheel of big spokes for Harley Davidson or the digital motor speedometer mini motogadget. In addition, three elements that would break with the typical Bobber-look were incorporated in the front of the motorcycle: a Harley dome, a keel-spoiler and a front grille.
The result, a motorcycle that, like the brand it represents, is giving and will give a lot to talk about. Wherever it goes, it becomes the “Trending Topic” of the event. It doesn’t matter if they are shirt cufflinks, a tie or this Harley Davidson transformed into our custom workshop.
Finally, all the reforms carried out in this legalized Harley Davidson were passed through our service of Homologation of transformed motorcycles.
From Lord Drake Kustoms, we want to thank David and the entire “Trending Topic” team for the trust placed in us and especially for how nice it has been to work with them on this project. Thank you very much, good luck and above all, that you were “Trending Topic” for a long time!
Because of its name “69” and the position it represents, this is the bike transformed more sexual than Lord Drake Kustoms has customized in his Harley Davidson workshop in Malaga to date. A Sportster Bobber.
An elegant and striking Harley Sportster Bobber
In addition, this Harley transformed in Malaga (Spain) is very attractive because it is a custom motorcycle that, as it was being built, seemed more daring and sexy. Also something rampant and radical, but elegant.
This Sportster Bobber with very casual style and for all audiences (young and less young, bikers and non-bikers) is a perfect custom motorcycle to ride on any street in the most Californian style. While people look at you in your path. With a powerful sound and great joy of walking.
The “sixty-nine” also has a somewhat radical stance that encourages you to twist the accelerator at the entrance of a highway. It is simply the “69”… sometimes it relaxes you, other times it takes you to maximum excitement!
The secret of this Sportster Bobber “69” is its color scheme
What was clear was that something striking and simple at the same time was sought. That’s why when painting this Harley Davidson, the striking white was combined with the elegant black. In addition, he put a touch of union between both colors in gold (aged) without abusing this color so as not to fall on a vulgar motorcycle.
This motorcycle has been in the second position in the “Sportster” category of the Harley Davidson European Custom Bike Show “Eurofestival” held in 2014 in Saint Tropez (France).
This motorcycle Sportster Bobber-style, with a Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 base, is the first of a series of which several units have already been made in the LDK Harley and custom workshop in Malaga. Fran Manen, the owner of the brand, has also customized two bikes of this series at his Harley workshop in Miami.

Harley-Davidson Softail Springer Classic FLSTSCI of the year 2005. A custom motorcycle “Old School”… really. Built by Lord Drake Kustoms in his custom Harley workshop in Miami (USA).
Well, here is the response of the owner of Lord Drake Kustoms to all those questions: A custom Bobber motorcycle, Old School! A real iron! An authentic Harley, American with character! A Softail Springer Classic… The “Springer SDT Vintage”.
This motorcycle customized in the motorcycle workshop of Lord Drake Kustoms in Miami (USA), has a detail to highlight, was commissioned by a regular customer of Fran Manen: “SDT Designs“. Which collaborated with LDK to result in this powerful Harley Old School. “SDT” are the initials of the name of the owner of the motorcycle transformed on this occasion.
The process of transforming this Softail Springer Classic
I didn’t want to use the typical and cheap Springer Aftermarket forks, so it was clear, you had to start with a very simple base to choose from… a Harley Softail. And for the result, to be more radical and authentic, a Softail Springer Classic.
The first thing was to undress the Harley Softail chassis to the point of removing the oil tank along with all the original engine and transmission covers of the Harley Twin Cam. We had to cut the entire rear of the chassis to start shaping this beauty.
The rear fender, the custom oil tank for Harley, in addition to all the connections, the base of the fuel tank, the base and the entire complete seat, the handlebars and the exhaust pipes, all were manufactured by Lord Drake Kustoms. He was also accompanied by aSportster fuel tank typepeanut which was also modified by LDK.
The rest of the engine and transmission covers of this Springer Softail were treated to move from the original chrome to the black textured powder coat. The finishes were very simple: pure steel with the rust that characterizes it and semi-gloss lacquer to protect it in fenders and fuel tank. It was also applied black powder coat with texture or gloss and red color to the rim of the tires.
The upholstery of the spring seat for this Harley was made with the same skin that uses Ferrari for the interior panels and consoles of its cars.
We must not forget the essence and soul in this world of customization and transformation of motorcycles, where this trend comes from. And without “Harleys” and without “Old School”, today we probably wouldn’t know the term “Custom Bikes” and all that it represents today.
